Happy Father’s Day!
BEFORE I START:
To all the fathers around the World,
From the bottom of my heart, I want to salute my fellow underappreciated fathers of the world. I Congratulate the fathers on surviving the craziness of fatherhood.
To Mr. Whiskey:
Happy Father’s Day partner! and thanks for being such a great friend throughout the years. I was reading your blog Mr. Whiskey and a few thoughts came to mind.
First of all, I could not agree more. I feel fathers in general should receive much more credit than given. We should also take into consideration that times have changed and there are a lot more stresses that modern day puts on us. Not saying older generation fathers don’t have stresses of their own, but things were much more simpler back then.
When you mentioned “peace of mind” it struck a chord with me. We are both married with kids and the stresses of being the model husband and model dad, that is all we want is a peace of mind! I am with you; I love the little letters my son writes for me and yes I am happy when I get some type of gifts from my wife but… like you mentioned Mr. Whiskey, we should make Father’s Day truly for fathers so we can get together and just let loose for a change.
I do understand Father’s Day is the day family celebrates the fathers, but I think it would be more fun if it is a day fathers can celebrate with other fathers. In other words, another excuse to drink with the boys.
Mr. Whiskey, I believe we men turned off our immaturity when we became fathers, but have you noticed when we get together we turn it back on again? I think we fathers want to be young again sometimes and just be free again at least for one day, and that day should be Father’s Day!
I can imagine the craziness that will transpire if we get all the fathers in one room and celebrate. Not only would it be epic but imagine the trash talking that will be going on? Not about the wives! Lol!!
By the way, that book “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” that you mentioned was the all-time greats of the 90’s! This is a book that everyone should read, there is so much truth to it.
To conclude, I am so happy both of us have amazing families and to be able to share our stories together.
