A father’s sacrifice is not really a topic much talked about. I hear many stories and praises about mothers but not so much about fathers. Not that I’m taking anything away from mothers. Motherhood is one of the biggest elements in a healthy family unit. Fathers and Mothers have to mutually work together to keep a strong loving family.
Lately Mr. Whiskey and I has been going through a few struggles in life. Struggles are a given especially living in this crazy modern world, this is understandable. I personally talked to Mr. Whiskey recently and was blown away at the things he would sacrifice and do for his family.
I have to give credit to Mr. Whiskey for his dedication to his family.
Not just Mr. Whiskey, but many fathers around the world do a lot for their families without asking for an ounce of praise. I myself is a father, so I’m well aware of the toll it takes on us physically and mentally. It’s definitely not an easy feat. Interestingly, most of us dads only want to see our families happy in return, nothing more nothing less.
The mental health of being a father is not an issue often talked about, but I think the world needs to address this more. We men tend to not let too much of our emotions out, this is ok for the most part. If we men always let our emotion get the best of us, then we can’t be a good strong support system for our families. That being said it is also not healthy keeping feelings bottled up inside, we men need a release somewhere.
Occasionally, us fathers need time alone or step outside to get a breather. This time outside the will allow us men to reflect and refresh mentally, and in doing so we can better our roles as fathers.
Personally, I have been going through a rough terrain in my life as well, and it feels like it keeps on coming. Like they say, “when it rains it pours…” Once things settle down I plan to take a few days off to relax, a much needed R&R.
Mr. Whiskey you do a lot for your family, and you truly sacrifice everything for them. Very admirable! Let’s get together soon, maybe we can plan a night soon.
Keep being humble Dads!
